Furby Gurdy circuit bend

Over 800 years ago, an instrument started to appear in the Middle East and in Western Europe called a hurdy gurdy .  The hurdy gurdy was operated with a crank, and moved a rosin-coated wheel which “bowed” the strings of the instrument.

Earliest Recordings ever made

It was once thought that the earliest recording of the human voice  was made by Thomas Edison in 1877, when he recorded Mary had a Little Lamb on his new invention - the phonograph.
BUT… a new recording has turned up.

Absolutely Ridiculous Home Theater

RIP Isaac Hayes

Isaac Hayes died today at the age of 65 - he was found unconscious in his home Located East of Memphis, TN.  If you don’t know who Isaac Hayes is, I’m not quite sure you should be reading this blog.
My Fave Isaac Hayes CD is Hot Buttered Soul .

OK, I can think of a million things to say about this, but instead, I’ll just throw this out there
A study in the Australasian Psychiatry journal has found that the style of music that teens listen to can tell a lot about their mental and emotional state.

First real iPhone synth !

I remember a very long time ago when I owned a TRS-80 color computer with 4k (!) of RAM made by Radio Shack and I bought the synthesizer cartridge for it.  It was so much fun just tweaking the filter and other parameters.
