Fan Stalks Singer Alex Gaskarth

Posted by heather in January 20th 2010

This week, the gossip blog world has been ablaze with the story of Maryland teenagers Alexandra King and Charlotte Armstrong, who showed up at the home of All Time Low singer Alex Gaskarth after allegedly purchasing the address, and interrupted what could best be described as a very private moment between Gaskarth and his girlfriend [...]

I Won’t Do What You Tell Me

Posted by heather in December 16th 2009

Here is the group that started it all. Or, rather, a rebooted version of the group that started it all, after the mysterious disappearance of the original. Jon and Tracy Morter are “fed up with the possibility of ANOTHER X-Factor Christmas No.1”, and they plan to do something about it! Namely, spearheading a viral marketing [...]

Musicians File Bankruptcy List

Posted by NA Admin in July 5th 2009

Musicians seem all too prone to file for bankruptcy protection. Must be part of the career hazard. Filing for bankruptcy protection does not always mean that the musician has no resources (look at Michael Jackson who had substantial assets from the Neverland Ranch to ownership in the Beatles Songs) . Usually the bankruptcy filings or [...]

100 Greatest jazz albums of all time

Posted by NA Admin in May 3rd 2009

Amazon has published their take on the 100 greatest jazz albums of all time. I had a great time going through this list, remembering music that I hadn’t heard in a long, long time and I also discovered a few albums (and musicians) that I still hadn’t been turned on to. Here is the list [...]

The Heavy Metal Monk

Posted by NA Admin in April 17th 2009

Brother Cesare Bonizzi is a Capuchin Monk who was born in 1946 in Italy. He has always used music as a way of spiritual meditation, but one day he saw Metallica in concert and he was changed forever. He formed a band called “Fratello Metallo” (“Metal Brother”), a heavy metal band saying that “Metal is [...]

Phil Spector found guilty of murder

Posted by NA Admin in April 13th 2009

Phil, Phil, Phil. It looks like after the mistrial that was ruled in his first trial, he’s finally been convicted of shooting and killing actress Lana Clarkson. Phil, the guy who invented the “Wall of Sound” production technique was picked up by police in 2003 after the actress was found dead in his house mansion. [...]

Some of the most controversial album covers ever

Posted by NA Admin in April 2nd 2009

It’s amazing how times change. What would be considered absolutely unacceptable 40 years ago is the norm now. Sometimes I wonder what people will find completely acceptable 40 years from now. Yikes! In any case, just for fun, here are 30 or so album covers that were either banned, changed to appease an overly prudish [...]

Amazing art made with old audio cassette tapes

Posted by NA Admin in March 26th 2009

I’ve got 2 large boxes completely full of old cassette tapes (remember those?) in my closet. There are probably over 400 tapes sitting there, degrading, losing their magnetic information, slowly dissolving into silence, or perhaps more correctly, white noise. Will I ever listen to any of these again? Probably not. Heck, I don’t even own [...]
