Do you like all the album names of your favorite artists? I am not talking about the albums themselves, but their names. Some bands get really creative and some occasionally get creative. Often, bands just pick a name (which is usually the band’s name) and keep numbering the name, as they release more records. Boring, right?

Amazon has published their take on the 100 greatest jazz albums of all time. I had a great time going through this list, remembering music that I hadn’t heard in a long, long time and I also discovered a few albums (and musicians) that I still hadn’t been turned on to.

I always like to wonder about what my favorite musicians listen to. It helps me discover new music and it’s also fun to find out what music inspires the musicians that have inspired me.
Every once in a while I read an interview with one of my favorite bands and they mention some albums they like. I’ll usually check them out and it’s amazing how many great bands I’ve found this way that I never would have been turned on to otherwise.
