On December 4, 2009, a user going by the name “iamamiwhoami” uploaded a video to YouTube. The video featured images of trees with writhing limbs, a metallic-skinned woman in the foetal position in what appears to represent the womb, and – most disturbingly – a goat giving birth; its soundtrack was a haunting trip-hop piece, completely devoid of vocals and led by quivering high-pitched synths. Links to the 55-second clip, titled “Prelude 699130082.451322”, were sent to various music blogs and the video quickly went viral, with over 122,000 views to ...

Sacha Baron Cohen, the actor of Borat, dressed in white angel wings and as the flamboyant character of his upcoming movie Bruno, was flying over the audience at the MTV Movie Awards. All of sudden, and clearly staged, he experienced mechanical problems as he fell and landed on rapper Eminem who appeared to be quite angry at the incident. The crew for Eminem tossed Bruno around for a bit and then Eminem his crew walked out.
The whole scene seems quite staged. It would appear to be a publicity stunt for ...

Julia Dales is a 17 year-old from Canada. Her beatbox video starts off with the words: My name is Julia Dales and I want to win the Beatbox Battle Wildcard. Her two-minute clip features DJ mixes, a bass line, drums, and an excellent remix of Justin Timberlake (who also has some beatbox skills), Fergie and Nelly Furtado.
She was crowned beatboxing queen: winner of the the first Beatbox Battle Online World Championship. Meanwhile, the Beatbox Battle World Championship is underway in Berlin, Germany from May 28th – June 1st 2009. It ...

Here’s a video that should satisfy the gadget geek in all of us.
Take:
- a Nintendo DS Lite with (with Electroplankton)
- a Nintendo DSi(with Korg DS-10)
- an iPod touch (with Mokugyo)
- an iPhone(with Bloom)
- and a Kaossilator
Connect them all up via a Belkin Rockstar. Here’s what you get:

Details are very sketchy, and something tells me that this might just be a viral campaign by Belkin, but I don’t care. It’s still really cool. It reminds me a bit of the Denki iPhone band.

This is “Pork and Beans” from Weezer’s latest self-titled album, Weezer. Unless you’ve been on a deserted island for the past 5 years, you’ll recognize almost all of the clips in the video. I thought it was pure genius.
Music and internet geeks like me will love this. This pokes fun at all those viral YouTube videos that we all love, and somehow actually manages to get the real “internet celebrities” to perform with them. Weezer’s just rolled up “pop-netroots” into one fascinating & funny video.
If you can’t pick out all the ...
