Stereofame music game: virtual record labels

Posted on February 12th 2009

This is sort of interesting:

Stereofame is a social music game that brings fans and artists together and empowers artists and listeners to determine what’s hot by creating virtual record labels.

The object of the game is to get as many points as you can so you can cash them in on great rewards. Additionally, artists are able to get the recognition they deserve for great songs through listener voting. Listeners are able to get the recognition they deserve by discovering great talent. It’s all about music, fame, and the game!

I think the power in this is it’s potential to introduce new music to people who wouldn’t normally be looking. I can see how things might get out of hand with the way they score points, but it’s still really interesting.
