“It’s fairly common for people who are over 25 years of age to not be able to hear above 15Hz”
Surely, you mean 15kHz…
I’m 33 and the highest I could hear is 20kHz.
Age 24
Can hear all the sounds – the last one (22) is a bit low but then again i didnt increase the volume.
I am wearing headphones – would that account for anything?
Wow, 21 and I could only hear up to 16. I’ve never really abused my hearing or gone to rock concerts.
Nothing beyond 15, and I’m 33.
I’m 22, could hear everything (sennheiser hd215+integrated laptop soundcard).
I do go to a lot of rave parties, and, when the sound is too lound, I hear a annoying buzz for a few hours.
Also, never ever listened to earbuds, just external headphones/speakers.
I’m 20 and I heard all of them, I’m a musician but I play piano and take good care to not blast anything I’m listening to.
I’m 20 and I hear 21 just barely
18 and i can hear up to 17KHz.
I’m 25 and can just barely hear 18kHz. It’s more of a “feeling” than a strong sound, really.
Catsby your feeling is a resonance and shows irritation of the nerves that are been amplified.
37. funny, i can hear all of them, 17kHz and 22kHz are pretty quiet though.
I’m 24 and can hear up to 18KHz… quite shocked by that tbh
Im 16 now and can hear up to 18
strange. im 27 and I could hear everything but 17 and 21 and 22. why couldnt I hear 17?
47yrs old…12 is the highest I hear
ROLLING STONES
BLACK AND BLUE TOUR
AC/DC!!!!
I’m 23 and could hear up to and including 19 kHz
Unibody Mac Pro
23 and could hear up to and including 19 kHz
Unibody Mac Pro
I’m 22 and could only hear up to 19
23, and can hear up to 21KHz. Even with headphones, I can’t hear 2KHz. Kinda freaks me out even if it’s quite normal: I expect a sound to be played and it’s like nothing comes out.
o.o 26, can’t hear above 14khz. I used to have headphones on max volume all the time, playing really loud stuff, and sometimes fall asleep with it on.
I’m 16 and I can’t hear the 21 and 22
I can hear 19, but it gives me such a headache. Oy… that was not worth it.
I could hear 19khz just…and I’m 17.
I’m 26 and hear all the tones.
29, can hear 17kHz clearly but after that nothing
I’m 21 and I can’t hear past 17
im 26 and can hear 21 but not 22
I canno’t hear beyond 15 kHz.
Yeah, I could hear all of them, I am 24.
21 ys old,it’s difficult to hear 14khz
I’m 16(17 in dec) and I heard all of the tones. Good?
25, cant hear above 12
17 and can hear until 17. im not sure if i hear the 18 or it’s just my tinnitus
I’m 28. If I turn the vol right up I can hear 20kHz.
I am 27 and the last one I can hear is 19 kHz tone.
Got upto 22. But isn’t the human hearing range 2-20KHz?
I”m nearly 18 and I can hear them all, and I listen to loud music in my headphones all the time, aswell as going to loud gigs.
im 21 and i found that 17khz was the limit for me
25 and djing 5 years..14kHz is the roof for me..too many loud speakers!
I’m 35 and can barely hear 15Khz. Not surprised after 15 years of rock band rehearsal, reeeeealy loud.
Cheers from Spain.
I am 30.
I can hear up to 18kHz.
I am shocked because of all the raves, concerts, etc I have listen to over the years.
I’m 39 and can hear up to 20KHz. Like a previous poster said, I can “feel” 21KHz more than I can hear it.
I hear all sounds … 8 to 22. I’m 41 years old!
Greetings from holland
29, couldn’t hear 15k
I am 21 and I can hear till 20KHZ. Not bad I think
im 21 i could hear up to 20 KHz but just barely i wouldnt have noticed it if i wasnt trying
age:22
can hear 17 KHz
im 18 and could only just hear 22kHz
I was able to hear them all, I turned 30 this week.
I can’t hear the 15kHz when I played on this page.
But when I play it with winamp or mediaplayer I can hear it till 17kHz.I’m 39
I heard them all, I’m 31, I’ve never owned an ipod ftw.
i can’t hear any of them !!
38. can’t hear 18KHz
I’m 22 and can’t hear beyond 12khZ

I am 26 and heard them all.
26 year Male. 17 yes. 18 No.
56 years old…I can hear up to 14. Seems I am ok.
I am 30 and got up to 17KHz.
I cant hear anything above 10
28 years old and my cut off was 17kHz.
I’m 40 and I can hear the 17hkz.
I’m 41 and the last one I could hear is 16.
I’m 18 and a performing guitarist and frequent a wide array of music shows from metal to jazz to raves. the last tone o can hear is 15kHz. i can recognize that the tones above are present but i cannot hear them.
I’m 18 and I stopped at 16… I can’t hear anything at 17… It’s making me sad, does that mean I have a really bad auditory?
The last one i can hear is 20 & i’m 16. Should i be able to hear all of them? Anyway it’s not so bad i guess =]
im 15. i can only hear until 15.
i’m fifteen and i can hear all leading up to 19 kHz, but then it cut out. that’s weirdd.
[...] http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/03/can-you-hear-this-hearing-test/ [...]
dang, im 14 and i cant here the 18 one.
I’m 21 and can only hear the 8kHz. Cannot pick up on the 10kHz at all. That’s really really sad. I knew I had bad hearing but it’s worse than I thought…
im 30 and i think i can hear 22kHz, 16 is the last one i can hear without trying. i guess this is good news considering the crazy shit i’ve been hacking together and calling headphones over the years. But then again my ears are like Spock’s and my name is Ezrad sooo…
I am 31, I can hear up to 18Khz
one interesting thing is that when I went from top down listening 8, 10 … I could only listen to 14 but I could feel the rest, while when I did the opposite I could hear 18Khz.
i’m 26 hear all the way to 20khz. I am listening on Samson Rubicon 5a studio monitors and i do think the audio files are not good.! From 20 to 22 i dont hear it, butttt i do feel it! You notice something is going on
The reason most people cannot hear the higher frequencies has to do with your cochlea. The cochlea is spiral shaped and the cells at the beginning of the cochlea process the higher frequencies and then the frequencies it processes gets lower as you go deeper in. When you get older and as your ears are exposed to loud sounds, the cells in the beginning of the cochlea die. The more damage you get, the lower the maximum frequency will become. Once you damage these cells there is no repairing them. Take care of your ears!
Im 35 and have been mixing live audio on weekends for years; got into it when i was 13. I can hear 12 at a reduced level. My wife who often sings live with bands could hear 16. My 13 year old son could hear up to 18.
i turned to 50 and i heard all frequencies…incredible…..
I’m 14 and I can only hear up to 19
but i can FEEL 20 and 21 in my head…explanation please?
It varies a little according to which speakers I use. I’m 52, can hear up to 14 just fine on desktop with external speakers, but only 12 on laptop. Mom (79) has generally good hearing according to the Dr., but can’t hear any of these (on laptop).
I barely hear 16khz, 15 years old… ooo sheet
19 years old/musician…can’t really hear above 14 khz
Up to 17 KHz – I hear the 18 KHz very quietly. I have several very good headphones which I often use, I play in a rock band and I am 24.
age 57. I can hear 10 but not 12.
Male 22 1/2 yrs old. I can hear 8khz to 20khz. Also 22khz. But I can only “feel” 21khz. I took a Navy hearing test at 18, was told I could hear at 0Db. ^.^ I love loud music but not heavy metal or screamo. (This test taken at max computer volume with ipod ear buds.)
Maybe I hit the jackpot! 60 and heard them all clear as can be, enough to be painful! But then, I listen mostly to classical and opera, hate wearing in-ear buds enough to reject their use completely (they give me headaches), and always protect(ed) my ears when I went to the good-old / bad-old concerts.
Do I get the old fogey prize?
I can hear up to the 16kHx tone, not the 17, then the 18-22kHz tones with the volume turned up, at 45. What that simply means, IMHO, is that PC audio systems and speakers aren’t made to accurately generate these tones and are generating sideband artifacts at lower frequencies. The 20-22 tones sound like the 14-16 pure tones. So if you can hear at the very high end, be a bit skeptical of whether it’s truly accurate.
I believe at least one post above mentioned hearing tones via speaker but not via headphone, showing the variability of the circuitry and transducers.
I’m 13 and I lost it at 21. I glad they had this test though because I’m a metalhead and listen to my music quite loud, my Mom says that I’m going to lose my hearing, but hey! I’d say 21′s pretty good, right!?
I heard easily up to 19kHz, at 20 my ears were tingling slightly but I couldn’t hear it, but at 22 I was deafened slightly for a few seconds.
Okay to the people who say they can hear anywhere beyond 20 kHz either this thing is wrong or you’re lying because the human hearing range goes from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and it is nearly impossible for someone to keep their ears that protected from damage.
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/sound/earsens.html
The threshold of pain (which is basically the point at which sound becomes unbearable for hearing) can EASILY occur during a lot of situations where a lot of people believe isn’t loud at all. For instance, TRAFFIC is already pushing the limit for hearing and concerts are above that limit already.
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Acoustics/Threshold_of_Hearing/Pain
at 20kHz noise should be bothering you and giving you headaches because you can hear the frequency from light bulbs humming while everyone else lives typical lives because they can’t hear that well.
I’m 20 and my frequency hearing range is 17kHz
(btw I’m in college to be an audio engineer and I’ve been in 6 different bands now I’m doing my own solo thing)
I’m 35, (36 in March, 2011). I can hear all the samples including 22 kHz. They all sound very “loud” until 17 kHz. At and beyond 18 kHz, it starts getting more high pitched and faint. 22 kHz was the hardest to hear, but upon multiple replays I can definitely make out the pitch. I’m quite surprised by these results because I’ve always felt I had below average hearing. However, I have taken good care of my ears over the years. I guess my problem is volume – I can’t hear soft conversation very well – I need the TV usually at a higher volume. But apparently I can hear high pitches pretty well.
im 14 an i can slightly hear the 19 Hz
I am 37 an can hear 8khz. I appear to have a dead spot at 10khz and can barely hear the 12. I have tinitus pretty bad so that propably doesn’t help. I wonder if I should get something done about it……
I can hear all the way to 22khz but I had to turn up to volume to do this. I can hear up to 17 khz even on very low volume.
I’m 58 yrs. old, play bass guitar, and could hear 8 kHz very well, but could barely hear 10 kHz. My wife could hear 10 kHz very well but could not hear 12 kHz. My 62 yr. old brother could hear 12 kHz but could not hear 14 kHZ. I remember taking a test similar to this when I was 25 yrs old and could not hear above 14 kHZ. So over that time period, I have lost the range of an augmented fifth.
30 y.o., male, i can hear 18 kHz.
I’m 45 and couldn’t hear anything past 10. Guess I should make an appointment to have my hearing tested.
19 here, heard 17 and below.
I’m 23, and can hear the 16 kHz tone easily on very low volume, but can only just hear the 17 kHz, and nothing higher, on full volume.
I’ve been playing concert percussion and a bit of drumkit for 9 years.
I often tell myself that I should wear earplugs — especially if I’m playing a crash cymbals part…
But us classical musicians can be snobbish about earplugs. Blame it on my speakers?
i am 13 and i can only hear up to 18
Im only sixteen! I cant hear 18 D:
Suggestion: Try it with your laptop speakers, then with a pair of high quality headphones. I guess you can pick your result.
goodness i can only hear up to 16 and i just turned 18 several weeks ago. but im the type to blast music so there you go
I heared all frequencies except for 21,20 & 19khz. I am 14. Is that ok?
I am 35, and can’t hear anything beyond 12kHz, but I played drums for many years and also get three or four inner ear infections per year, and always have done ever since I was little.
this is awesome
Man,i’m 14 and i can ear only 18KHz.I always cared of my ears,i expected better.
And,i think the 19 to 22 tones contains somewhat pink noise or 1Khz noise or whatever. On what codec are the sounds encoded?
i’m 13 and i hear up to 19kHz
28 years old, last ten years a lot of loud speakers smoked my ears…but still I am able to hear 20KHz and lower…21 and 22KHz sounded more like low end created inside my head…
I’m afraid the equipment I used cut off somewhere above 12kHz. I know I hear above 16kHz.
I’m 57 and male, and doing the test in a quiet household using small dual-cone laptop speakers connected to a large heavy floor-standing PC with eleven fans of widely-ranging sizes in it, so it produces a fairly loud fan whoosh. My working life has been in office environments, but I spend limited periods of time in server rooms with the normal drone of fans, disk drives and airconditioning equipment.
14 kHz is loud and clear to me. I can’t hear 16 kHz, and the jury’s out on 15 kHz. If I do a comparison test between 22 kHz (which I definitely can’t hear) and 15 kHz, sometimes I feel that I detect a difference, and other times I don’t think I do. So, if there’s any hearing there at 15 kHz, it’s probably not enough to make a difference.
25. I could hear up to 17 clearly, but for the others I could clearly discern the start and finish of when they were playing. I probably could have done more a few years ago, but the band directors at my college are psychos when it comes to volume, and I used to hang out in the art/music building most of the day.
wow im 15 i can only hear up 2 18 lmaooo
I’m 49 and I can hear 12KHz clearly, but 14KHz not at all.
My 15 year old son can hear 17KHz clearly and 18KHz barely.
My 13 year old son can hear 18KHz clearly and 19KHz barely.
My 10 year old son … can’t stay still long enough to listen.
I am 21 years old and i heard each and every little annoying sound including 22..
This is scary- I’m barely 16 but the last one I can hear is 17kHz…
Time for me to ditch the headphones ya’ll
This kid is really stoked. I’m 56 and can just hear the 17kHz frequency.
I am a 32 year old female and i could hear up to 17…
i am a professional classical musician and i do seldom listen to other music than classical.
16 years old. i can hear all but the 22kHz
I had to turn the volume all the way up on my laptop to hear beyond 15 kHZ, but they were making different note sounds so i guess I heard them. I went all the way to the last one.
I’m 19 and I could hear until 20
It just depends on which headphones I use. I tried with the ipod headphones and i barely heard 16kHz tone, but when I switch for sennheiser HD555 I can hear up to 22kHz.
sry for bad english
I think i couldn’t hear beyond of 16 kh due to my headphone’s quality…
With my volume at normal music listening levels I can hear up to eighteen but 16-18 are VERY faint. I can also (like deezey) feel more than hear 19.
But if I crank my volume 17 is way too loud to comfortably listen too and 18 is pretty average. But for some reason I still feel more than hear 19. But other than that weird thing with 19 I can hear all of them pretty well with my volume cranked to the max that I couldn’t hear with normal music listening volume.
Im 11 and i cant hear 15
I’m 43 now and I can hear 18 kHz, a very faint 19 kHz, can’t hear 20kHz but -very odd- I can clearly hear 21 kHz. Is this normal?
I played with a band for some time (very loud rehearsals in a small room), I must have lost some hearing then…
I could hear up to 18 however I was in the military and am in Law Enforcement now and I’ve been privy to numerous high frequency and low freqency ear drum busters so I’m sure that has something to do with it.
I’m 55, a musician (aucoustic), and I could hear 8 kHz, but could only barely hear 10 kHz. Do I get the booby prize?
FWIW, I don’t have any trouble hearing conversation, TV, or any music I want to listen to, and I live in the mountains in a *very* quiet environment.
Shalom Aleikhem,
Oleander.
I’m 32 and I can hear everything up through 16k over my macbook fine. Crap headphones get me through 22k, but they are all really light even cranked up full volume. 18k and 22k seem the weakest, but the others are at least there when the ambient noise is cut out a bit.
Too many trance mixes and a couple too many evenings at the club I suppose =P Could always be worse though. On the bright side, I just found out that I have perfect color vision
I’ll be 44 in three weeks and the last one I could hear normally was 12k. If I put my ear right next to the speaker I could barely discern the 14k one. I’m a long-time metalhead and musician. I guess it took it’s toll. I still play things a bit loud at times. Nothing like when I was younger but…….
I’M ALMOST 13 AND I CAN’T HEAR PAST 18!! :O
i am 15 i heard all of them !!!!!!!!!!!!
im 15 and i could hear up to 22. cool
I am 13 and hear all the way up to 22 kHz, apparently this is pretty high. Because I couldn’t hear it from my mac, i played it on a specialized speaker that can play frequencies up to 33 kHz.
I’m seventeen and I can hear every tone, from 8 to 22 kHz!! Yeah ! But there’s something wrong… from 19 to 22 kHz the sound isn’t squeaky, the tones seemed even lower than 18 Hz… Am I right or should it be like this??
I am 51 yrs old heard 12, not 14
I’m wondering about the accuracy of these sound samples. I can hear a tone at 21 khz but even a new born baby can’t hear beyond 20 khz, or so I thought. Is it possible that sound waves create harmonics below the fundamental, not that I’ve ever seen anything written about this and I have looked a lot into harmonics. Having read some of the above comments it seems that speakers can create a lower hum when a tone is passed through but how come they only seem to do that for the higher pitches? Maybe that’s the equal loudness curve kicking in where the sound of the speakers becomes louder than the high tones.
I’m 45 and can hear to 14 khz on this test, before the sounds start becoming lower than the previous sounds and therefore unreliable, but on others I’ve heard to 15 khz. For all those people who think they can hear high up in these tests I’d advise you to check again. Listen carefully to see if the sound is higher than the previous one. If it’s not I’d suggest that you aren’t hearing the written frequency, but a lower one, some kind of sound card or speaker reaction perhaps.
It would be nice to do a test on a system that didn’t allow this speaker hum, or whatever it is, to interfere.
I can hear max 16kHz. I’m 21.
I am going to turn 21 next month, and was able to hear the 21kHz frequency distinguishably. However , the 22kHz frequency was just barely audible.
I can sense pitches really well, and generally am able to perceive most sounds(noises) around me. I don’t have an absolute pitch, eventhough I’ve been playing keyboards for over 12 years. Only sometimes, am I able to tell the right pitch by virtue of the lowest pitch I can comfortable hum. In my case it is C2.
My eyesight is weak, btw
interesting; I hear everything except 20k & 22k. Me=20
im 35 , 36 in may
i can hear upto 16khz thru my speakers
with headphones on i can hear upto 18khz
and im a dj and producer , i get exposed to a lot of loud environments
Thanks for the tool.
I’m 23 and can’t hear 14kHz. I remember from an experiment back in physics class aged about 15 that I had unusually bad ears for my age even before I started going to gigs. Can’t remember what my cutoff was then but no doubt it’s got a lot worse.
im 13 and i CANT hear 19 and above. is that bad?
[...] Would you trade in your ear buds for an old fashioned, over-the-ears set of headphones? Think about it for a minute and then check your hearing here. [...]
Im 20 years old, and I can hear Jesus thinking.
Im 19 and the last one i heard was 18
i could hear the start of 19 but then it cuts out. This was all with full volume too, when i have it lower i can just about hear 18, so thats where it stops
.
oh and by 22 i cant hear anything
Age 21, hear only up to 18khz
I’m 31 and I heard 15 but nothing beyond that. My boyfriend, who is a musician, can’t hear ANY OF THEM. Holy crap.
I’m 19 and just about heard the 17kHz.
I tried this hearing test a few days ago. I listened to it too many times because I was trying to figure out what the sound of the higher frequency files was as I was hearing some kind of lower hum even when I couldn’t hear the actual frequency. Unfortunately, even though I couldn’t actually hear the higher frequencies I have now done some damage to my left ear, which is hopefully temporary. The danger is that even if you cannot hear the high frequencies they can still damage your hearing as high frequencies are more dangerous than lower frequencies. These high frequencies are only meant to be heard as harmonics anyway as there is no instrument or sound that is pleasing to the human ear that goes this high. I should have known better than to listen to this frequencies more than once as I have looked at the working of the human ear but I also think that sites like these should come with a warning and guidance of how to use these tests safely. The temptation is to crank your speakers up in order to hear it but the fact is that even if you cannot hear it the vibration is still happening and these higher frequencies are extremely dangerous to the ears. Also you should not try to hear any higher than one beyond the highest frequency that you can hear.
thanks to yall. I just discovered the beaty of FLAC Losless Music with Ratatat. Its like I just discovered a new music. Will protect my ears better from now on !
I am seventeen years old and can only hear up to the 15. I don’t wear an ipod for extended periods of time and I try to avoid earbuds. I don’t go to concerts – so I find it surprising that I cannot hear past this number.
I’m 14 and could hear all of them except 19kHz. Otherwise, i could DEFINITELY hear all the other frequencies; thy were very high-pitched and annoying.
I’m 39 and the only tone that I cannot hear is 1600 KHz. This probably has more to do with my sound card than my ears……
I’m 21, turning 22, with kind of bad hearing and I was born with tinnitus. I can hear up to 15 VERY clearly (they all make me twitch and my blood goes cold, oddly enough), but past that, nothing. I’ve never had very good hearing, however, and my tinnitus is bad enough to give me headaches, so I’m not a very awesome example. I never listen to anything very loudly, though I did damage one eardrum a couple of years ago when I had a bad ear infection and my eardrum burst on me. Good job, me.
All in all, I’m not at all surprised that my hearing isn’t great. I’m actually surprised that I’m sort of average.
Im 25 and can hear 19khz with the speakers up quite loud. But just checked my speakers frequency range and its 53Hz to 20kHz so i think this would mean my speaker couldn’t even produce the 20khz frequency ?
Wow, I’m shocked. I’m 39 and I can hear all the way up to 20 and felt like I was at least sensing something at 21 and 22. I’m surprised because I haven’t really taken as good care of my hearing as I could have. Yay!
i can hear all of them!
i herd up to 21 and i am 34. You young people play your music way to loud. You are going to pay for it later in life. You just wait. Teach you to turn your music down.
16 yearsold. can’t hear past 18.
Almost 40 age: 15 Khz is annoying buzz, 14khz kills my ears.
And i HAVE mild hearing loss.
it cuts off at 18 for me but i hear 21 im 17 is this good?
I just turned 18 and I can hear up to 19 kHz. I think I might have been able to hear 20 kHz, but I’m sticking with 19.
Most of the time I have my earbuds in with the music up fairly loud.
I am 55, a lot of rock concerts, i can hear the 14db
I’m 23, I can hear all except 22
I’m 21, I can hear them all up to 21 and then I can hear a little the 22 but it doesn’t sound loud and I couldn’t recognize any note in it.
26 years old and 16Khz was the last I heard.
im 17 and i cud here all of them but when i got to twenty after that i only cud here it in one ear lol donno if that bad or anythink
I am about to turn 24. I can hear 12KHz in my left and 15KHz in my right then they cut out (respectfully). I have terrible hearing due to many ear infections as a child.
I’m Larry and i turned 15 and i went all the way to 21!!!!!
I’m 25 and can hear 14khz. At 15, I can hear it when my right ear is turned towards the screen but not the left. My husband is 26 and can hear up to 18khz.
Strange. I can´t hear the 20 or 21 kHz, but i can hear the 22 kHz. I´m 16 by the way.
Im 16 and i can easly hear the 22k
I turned 27, 15kHz is loud and clear for me, beyond that I can barely “feel” it, all it comes out of my headphone is “click” sound when it starts and ends. I’m a multi musician-ist, been singing in choir since I was 3 and play piano, violin, clarinet and flute. I am too lazy to crank up the volume or my cat will start complaining. I guess the file format and sound card/ amp/ speaker/ headphone combo does play a role.
24 and last one i could hear is 14khz and i dont listen to music at all
I’m 32 and can hear only up to 15kHz
Geez I really don’t like this test it hurts my ears. I am 14 and i can hear them all
- barely on some of them though….
I’ve just turned 16 in December and I can barely hear the 16 one. I feel terrible now.
Im 24 and I could hear up to 18, but when I put earphones on I can hear the rest even though 22 is really faint I can still make it out, I guess having my ipod on full blast for years and standing next to the amps at metal gigs didnt do as much damage as I thought
I’m 46, a singer and used to be a writer, producer and post production engineer. I can hear up to 14K at moderate volume (to my ears). I can no longer engineer effectively so need to rely on my memory of eqing tracks rather than hearing them properly. As originally said, this is an unscientific test but it does give everyone who tries it a bit of an idea of their hearing abilities. I suffer from severe tinnitus because back in the 80s when I started out being in bands, no-one ever advised or warned us about the damage we were doing. In this day and age there’s no excuse, all you people out there who can hear well or not, STOP listening to music so loud and START protecting your ears. HEARING DAMAGE is PERMANENT and IRREVERSABLE! As another poster said, we can only wait until stem cell technology advances sufficiently to have any hope of repairing our damaged hearing. That may take decades.
I’m 26 and I can hear them all. I have always had loud stereos in my car and i’m a mechanic around loud noises all day
I can actually hear all the way to 22khz.. well, 22khz being almost nothing. I’m 18 years old (sept10).
I am wearing headphones and I think that’s how the test is usually done.
I also don’t have the best eyesight there is and have to wear glasses to see things that are far away.
16 years old, musician and could only hear up to 15kHz
You guys may not be able to hear it because of your speakers. They may not be able to produce such a high frequency.
I’m 50 and I can hear up to 21kHz; 22 is inaudible, though. Never spent much time protecting my hearing. It may be relevant that all members of my immediate family, including my 75 year old mother, can hear up to 21kHz, too.
I’m 21 and can just make out 17. Less clubbing methinks.
Lol, being young and metal sure has left its marks.
22, and anything beyond 16khz is plain silence
Wow! 14 years old and only 14 Khz
People, these test are very subjective.
First of, the acoustic of you room will change everything.
Second, speakers and headphones have different frequency ranges, and will also have tip and dips in the frequency bands. Meaning that for a certain headphone/speaker compare to the others, it might reproduce a lot more of a frequency than an other, and might have a strong dip at an other. Which is not helped (worsen) by the room acoustic.
Third, there’s the body from the start. Not everyone is born with the same hearing proficiency. Some will NEVER hear over 15KHZ no matter how young or old they are.
So don’t get to much rave or anger about this product.
I’m 24 now and i hear 26 kHz with no problems
Every piece of software (cooledit, VLC, Winamp) and both my Nvidia HDMI and Motherboard THX audio outputs mess up the playback of the high-frequency (>17Khz) tones.
I know from previous tests that I can’t hear above 18.5Khz, but I can clearly hear the 20Khz from this site because of the resulting lower frequency distortions.
Conclusion: you can’t just download these tones and play them back on the your computer reliably, the hardware and software cause distortions in the tone which are lower frequency than the original files and hence highly audible.
Also the tones need to be tapered to stop the annoying click at the beginning and end of the tone.
17 and I can hear all of it. *Amazed O.O
Im 40 and can only hear 10khz with my left ear and 12khz with my right.
I can hear all of them up to 22khz perfectly fine, not even faint. Haven’t found any tests over 22khz but I’m eager to try it. I always knew I have great hearing.
