Uh, yeah it probably was “one-of-a-kind”. They didn’t have (at first) a way of mass producing cylinders so they would set up ten machines all around an artist and have them sing or play the same song over and over to make enough to sell. There are gazillions of them left, but that particular one may have been “one-of-a-kind.”
I remember this guy from college. He used to break things on purpose, just so he could say “SH_T”.
Eucho: It wasn’t Parkinsons – the guy was just encredibly nervous. Hossridr is, well, talking out of his _ss.
This clown is probably some rich asshole who has a roomfull of these things or similar items. That should have been placed in a museum, but no, the wealthy have to horde whatever is left of the antiques of the early part of this century. This should be a lesson.
ah well no great loss, i’m sure someone would have ripped an mp3 copy if it was that historical.
Its not one of a kind.. I have seen many of these in flea markets.
Actually that’s not fake. It was on TechTV back when it still existed. The guy has Parkinson’s and couldn’t control his grip well enough, and crushed it.
Wow, another example of publicity destroying history.
