Posted on December 28th 2008

Thelonious Sphere Monk was born in 1917 and died on February 17, 1982. He was a pianist and composer from the US, but above all was considered to be one of the most important musicians in jazz.

He had a very unique style, and many people regard him as the originator bebop.

I’ve never seen this from any musician let alone Monk, one of the greats. This is stuff most musicians don’t think about – and they should.
